Simone Padovani

Simone Padovani is a percussionist and drummer. After taking part in important workshops with musicians of international fame (Miguel “Angà” Diaz, Juan “Medrano” Cotito, Elvin Jones, Horacio (El Negro) Hernandez), he gets introduced to the healing music in the African tradition at a laboratory held by
Goma’ Parfait Ludovic. He meets saxophonist Dimitri Grechi Espinoza and in 2004 he joins Dinamitri Jazz Folklore, with which he records three albums. In 2007 he joins the Cosmic Band conducted by trombonist Gianluca Petrella, with which he records threa albums. Cosmic Band is awarded the prize Top Jazz 2009 as best ensemble of the year. Always in 2007, he’s a guest together with Steve Bernstein, Michele Papadia and John de Leo in the new record “Kaleido” of the Indigo4 quartet of G.Petrella. The album is released on Blue Note Records. Since 2002, he collaborates with singer-songwriter Bobo Rondelli and with the group Ottavo padiglione, and has recorded four albums with them. IN 2014 he records with Sousaphonix of Mauro Ottolini the new record ”Musica per una società senza pensieri”. In 2018 he collaborates with Riccardo Sinigallia and records some tracks for his album “Ciao cuore”. Always in 2018, he collaborates with  Deproducers on their new album “DNA”, released in April 2019. He tours with singer-songwriter Francesco Motta and records for the new album of Nicola Conte to be released on Ishtar.

He’s had the pleasure to meet and play with: Amiri Baraka, Bombino, Bobby Previte, Bobo Rondelli, Dinamitri Jazz Folklore, Enrico Rava, Fabrizio Bosso, Funk Off, Gianluca Petrella, Gilson Silveira, Giovanni Guidi, Jeff Albert, Karima Ammar, Mauro Ottolini, Mauro Refosco, Motta, Moustapha Dembele Zam, Nada, Nicola Conte, Ottavo Padiglione, Paolo Fresu, Peewee Durante, Sadiq Bey, Samba Tourè, Silvia Bolognesi, Tartit. 

He has taken part in important national and international festivals.
